Meagan Santiago, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Hi! My name is Meagan Santiago, and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW.) Other names I may go by include therapist, counselor, and advocate. I am an avid listener, non-judgmental supporter, and gentle motivator for the next right thing.
I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults who want to experience mental and emotional wellness but are overwhelmed with the weight of life’s many challenges. I specialize in individual therapy designed as a safe space for clients to feel heard and understood, while also gaining perspective for positive change. Therapy can help foster healthy coping skills, personalized solutions, and helpful patterns of thought and behavior so that you can live in freedom.
I know from my own mental health journey that it can be really terrifying to ask for help. Often, we feel that we might be judged or misunderstood. We may even fear that our brokenness is beyond repair. I step into that scary space with clients to help them access the wealth of resilience hidden in every human heart. Taking one step at a time, I firmly believe that healing and wholeness is possible.

My clients love that I am their biggest cheerleader and encourager; I have a gift for seeing incredible potential and calling it into action. With unconditional positive regard and a hope-filled perspective, the future can start to feel bright once more.
Creativity is one of the major facets of my therapeutic style. With children and adolescents, this may look like processing emotion through artistic expression, song, or movement. Due to variance in developmental stage, traditional “talk therapy” may not be right for your child as processing through language may not be possible. Instead, you’ll notice that creative play takes center stage in my work with children.
Play is the medium through which young minds explore essential concepts such as safety, cooperative relationship, and emotional resilience.
Meagan has a masters in social work, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker #18925. For more information or to schedule a session with Meagan, call 813-982-4230.
Enneagram [ 4 ]
As an Enneagram Four, I thrive in deep conversation and authentic expression of truth. I am captivated by the simple gifts and wonders of this world, and drawn up in its vast beauty.
Endless curiosity keeps my Podcast queue overflowing and library holds list growing longer by the day. You may catch me absorbed in an audio book while on a cool Autumn hike, or with tears in my eyes over the sheer wonder of a delicious meal.
Professionally, these personality components show up as sincere fascination with human stories, non-judgmental empathy, and the ability to see hope and beauty amidst pain.
I am truly convinced that in order to be fully known and loved, we must be able to show up as ourselves. Sometimes that means being honest about past wounds and recognizing places of brokenness. As we shed light on hidden hurt, true healing can emerge.
If you’re exploring the prospect of starting counseling today, I commend your courage and insight. You’ve already taken the first step. I challenge you to continue on this journey by scheduling your first appointment today.
