Work with Us

Sheltering Oaks Counseling, a group private practice in Wesley Chapel, Florida, seeks a full-time, licensed psychologist to join us as we offer veteran disability evaluations, psychological/educational testing, play therapy, and counseling services. Candidates should be licensed in the State of Florida, with training in clinical or counseling psychology. This position will initially include veterans’ disability evaluations, personality assessments, and educational testing services, offered in close collaboration with psychometricians. The ideal candidate will work well as part of a small team and be comfortable with ongoing back-and-forth interaction with peers and doctoral students.

This position will also include at least one evening per week available to provide psychotherapy services to children, teens, and adults within the candidate’s areas of interest and expertise. Please be prepared to describe your niche – the clients with whom you most enjoy working. Sheltering Oaks clients come primarily from a Christian (Evangelical and Catholic) demographic and seek to integrate their faith practice with their therapeutic work. Candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and experience working with, this demographic, as well as a willingness to participate in community marketing and outreach that would appeal to our typical clients. A preference will be given to candidates who are open to working with, or have experience working with, veterans.

At Sheltering Oaks, we value building relationships within our community and helping our clients do the same. It’s also a hallmark of our business to promote strong, lasting bonds within our team, and to work collaboratively both in the office and with frequent referral sources, commonly other professionals and community leaders.

Candidates will have W-2 employee status. Working hours will be on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with therapy hours on Wednesday evenings. Candidates must be willing to work at least 25 hours per week.

We offer a fee-for-service/private pay practice. Compensation is competitive and is a percentage-based model, depending on income received, and payment is bi-monthly.

We provide:

  • Steady stream of referrals
  • Competitive compensation
  • An in-house bookkeeper
  • An in-house intake coordinator who fields calls and schedules appointments
  • Individual consultation with our Clinical Director
  • Monthly group case consultation
  • Bonuses every 6 months (marketing and blogging required to receive bonuses)
