Doris Cheung, Intern

Counseling Intern
My name is Doris Cheung. I am a student in the clinical mental health counseling program at Liberty University. After getting my doctoral degree in developmental psychology, I worked as the cultural diversity director at a mental health association and as a victim advocate/case manager at a university. I see the need for mental health counseling and hope to serve in the field.
I am passionate about walking alongside people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. My experience as a victim advocate/case manager motivated me to serve others who are struggling or healing.
From my experience as an advocate, I understand the importance of providing a safe and non-judgmental environment for people to open up. I would love to provide such an environment for people to search for their strengths, learn, and grow. Also, I am from Hong Kong and speak both Cantonese and Mandarin.
Enneagram [ 7 ]
As an enneagram type seven, I am extroverted and spontaneous. I am enthusiastic about my life journey. There are ups and downs, yet I keep my curiosity and sense of adventure. I try to learn from my life lessons and be thankful for the good and bad experiences.
Enneagram type sevens (7) are imaginative and creative. These characteristics are reflected in my journey as an artist. I love exploring different art mediums and being creative, and I also use art as my self-care.
I am looking forward to working with you!
